Marian E. Elliott

VAN ETTEN, NY - Marian E. Elliott, 90, died Sunday, April 29, 2007.

She was born in Cleveland, OH, on June 14, 1916. She was predeceased by her father, Archer R. Elliott; her mother, Rama (Cox) Elliott; and her brother, Hugh E. Elliott. Marian is survived by two nieces, Diane (Russ) Hall, OH, and Barbara Michael, MI; one great-nephew, three great-nieces, three great-great-nieces and one great-great-nephew. Her dear friend and caregiver, Pegg Smith, also survives her.

Marian graduated from Allegheny College in 1937. She received her Master's in English from Cornell Univ. in 1942. She taught at Ithaca High School in Ithaca, NY, her entire career. She retired as chairwoman of the English Dept. She belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Ithaca Women's Club, and was a member of St. Paul's U.M.C. of Ithaca.

A grave side service will be held Saturday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva, Ohio. The Rev. Don Kraps, from the Centenary United Methodist Church of East Palestine (OH), will preside.
